Hello classmates, I hope you are well, Today I’m going to talk you about an article, qualified
with the name “Primeras exposiciones de arte en Chile”
This article speaking about the art in Chile,
starting with period of the colony, where the art
had a little presence in the cultural scene
and don´t had exhibition spaces, but in
the century XIX the visual arts reactivated with economic growth. For example in
the 1849 was born the first academy of painting, in the 1854 was born the
academy of sculptor, and the organization of the first international
exhibitions, including the first official Salon in 1887. The magazines in this
period having very much importance in the art scene, for example, the “Pacífico
Magazine, Zig-Zag, Artes y letras, Selecta y Los Diez” that commented and broadcast
achievements, strengths and weaknesses of national artists.
I`m thinking this article is very important for our career
because speaking the evolution of art in Chile and, speak about our University
of Chile, who organized the annual art exhibitions in 1930.
